300 microfictions:solo residency

BLINDSIDE :: 20 May - 6 June 2020

300 Microfictions explored rhythm, repetition, memory and imagination in movement and text, working in/with the empty gallery. Opening up a site within and alongside the hum of the city by a combination of low-grade technology (movement, song and writing on windows with erasable materials). A spatial practice of dance which, by means of recording and replaying choreographic writing techniques, became portals for multiple spaces at the same time.

A procedural architecture built from scraps, moments of revelations, spending time alone in an empty gallery, morsels from a global pandemic, from memories of this iconic building, visits from friends/mentors/collaborators and contributions from the void gallery itself, and anyone/thing else that bothered showing up.

Dancing and writing adjacent to the everyday and potentially as fluid as the city.
